Bellysima by Mercato Centrale at Glorietta 5: Healthy Weekend Market

We’ve recently checked out BELLYSIMA @ GLORIETTA 5 last June 12. It is from the same people behind that brought us the successful Mercato Centrale and we were thrilled to find out that it will now be a regular weekend market! Find all sorts of unique and delicious market finds in one place, some of their vendor partners which include:

- Mio Gelati (gelato)
-
Made By Max PH (almond nut butters and cookies)
- Cocoa Monster (tablea, choco-covered dried mangoes)
-
Only the Good Stuff (local hybrid mangoes)
- Milea Bee Farm (honey-based products)
-
Choco Locco Gourmet of Chocolates (locally made chocolates)
- Mr. Monty (tofu siomai and sauces)
- Delicane (sugarcane juice)
-
Piper's Pan (cakes)
- Armanisse Kitchen (sausages, nachos, honey calamansi juice)
- Purple Buds (red velvet crinkles and other pastries)
- Bach's Dagupan Bangus (bangus products)
- Bravo Deli (bottled gourmet tuyo, tinapa, etc.)
- Peanut Butter & Jelly (imported snacks and goods)

The fair will be open every weekend, Friday and Saturday, from 10AM to 10PM!

My beloved nephew and constant companion, Kyle and I truly enjoyed the free food samplings and the fair itself. Coming from a weekend buffet lunch with my mom, we were still full by that time so we didn’t get to try all the booths. But we were able to try Cocoa Monsters that offers dried mango strip coated with chocolate, Dolci’s delicious coffee jelly by Reysons Foods [I swear, it was sooo good!] prepared with fresh milk, mini doughnuts, coffee bean coated with chocolate, some pastries, authentic Kapampangan specialty dishes like Pork Humba and Betute [stuffed fried frogs], Cebu’s famous lechon, and sugarcane and lemongrass based beverages.

I don’t consider myself as someone with a sweet tooth but I just couldn’t get enough of Dolci’s Coffee Jelly that I eventually bought 5 bottles to bring home with me. If you’re looking for Kale, Bellysima’s also the place to be. Known as one of the healthiest veggies, Kale is basically a rare find in the Philippines. But you can find it all here at Bellysima in Glorietta 5 activity center. You can buy some kale and then buy your choice of Salata dressing from light vinaigrettes with flavors such as Toasted Sesame, fruity Apple Strawberry, Greek Balsamic, to heavy ones like Garlic Caesar, Sicilian Lemon and Herb Dressing, Mustard Seed and Lemon, Cilantro Lime, they all seem to complement your kale. However, if you want them prepared, there’s Healthy Monsters [fresh and healthy green salads in a bottle] for you. Organic rice in different variants were also available. Of course, if there were healthy choices, they also have something for those with sweet tooth. I’ve also checked out a few authentic Asian sauces, dips and ingredients along with Singapore’s Koka noodles and ginger-infused brewed tea.

There will surely be something you’ll fancy at Bellysima to make your visit worth it. By the time we left, Kyle and I were able to purchase one pack of dried fish [Cebu’s danggit], five bottles of coffee jelly, four bottles of Gawad Kalinga's Bayani Brew and 6 packs of Singaporean Koka noodles in assorted flavors, and we ended up our visit with Mio Gelati’s Salted Caramel [for him] and my all-time favorite, Chocolate Chip Mint gelato for me. Indeed, what a sweet way to cap-off our Bellysima weekend trip!

Come and visit Bellysima Weekend market at Glorietta 5 on Fridays and Saturdays, from 10AM to 10PM! I can assure you, it’ll be worth the trip!
