Sambo Kojin SM Megamall where authentic and delicious Japanese Yakiniku meets Korean Barbecue favourites

Borne from the desire to provide Filipino families with a more engaging dining experience, Sambo Kojin continues to develop and find ways to keep improving to offer only the best. It had recently opened its latest branch at the third level of Atrium of SM Megamall. Sambo Kojin fires up anew with even more mouthwatering treats for everyone as it takes foodies and their families to unforgettable journeys in Korea and Japan with its premium and featured items.

Kamameshi rice
With its unique concept of bringing the best tasting foods from Seoul South Korea and the bountiful and freshest authentic Japanese fares, Sambo Kojin has been happily satisfying customers who are craving its delicious and top grade US marbled and tender beef as well as seafood dishes served fresh and spiced to be grilled, ‘Yakiniku’ style. The restaurant also takes great pride in the transformation of the freshest ingredients into works of both Japanese and Korean food art. Made with precision, crafted to perfection, offering a variety of specialties such as premium sushi bar favourites: kamameshi, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, robatayaki, katsu, and furai from Japan and Korea’s staple dishes like bibimbap, pajeon, chapchae, banchan, beef galbi, and our current favourite, yongnyam dalg jin [Korean fried chicken].
Korean fried chicken

Speaking of such Korean fried chicken, Kyle, my beloved 12-year-old nephew couldn’t get enough of those. The humble chicken ups the ante with sizzling flavours and spices that pack attitude and punch. Hot and juicy and crispy, Sambo Kojin’s version of Korean fried chicken’s individually brushed with its special sauce, making it even more delicious.

Every dish is a work of art, every bite is a taste of Japan and Korea. One doesn’t really need to travel far, nor does he need to spend extra bucks for some visa and airfare to enjoy authentic Japanese and Korean dishes. It’s all right here, under one roof at Sambo Kojin. Some dishes are characterized by sweet and spicy tastes with the subtle use of chilli and ginger that appeals even to the most discerning palates. They even have different kinds of sauce on each table to match and complement whatever Yakiniku item you’ll be having.

Of course, there are others items on their featured dishes that’s worth trying such as their Foil Yaki items which includes Prawns in Garlic and their Banchan gives a delicious kick to every Korean meal. Don’t forget to try their intricately designed bou maki pieces which were carefully prepared in Makimono rolls and temaki [cone shaped sushi].

The cozy ambiance and high-quality food items make each visit a pleasurable experience that is always worth repeating.

“We’ve also updated our desserts. We’ve asked our chefs to come up with new items for our customers. There’s nothing like capping off a hearty meal with something sweet. So we now have some yoghurt aside from our soft-serve ice cream, panna cotta in different flavours and even birthday cakes,” says Mara Villavicencio of Sambo Kojin.
