Recipes 8 Missouri Specialities and Sweets Food Review

Your family can dine like royalty in Recipes 8 Missouri Specialties and Sweets. Their friendly staff is ready to attend to all your needs, and they’ve got an exciting array of dishes you’d normally see in fine dining restaurants but served at a more affordable price. And recently, they’ve also come up with special desserts to satisfy the sweet tooth in you or to simply cap off that awesome meal. And because they’re from the same people that brought you the well-loved Recipes by Metro group, you can be assured of the same quality and service.

Getting to Recipes 8 Missouri Specialties and Sweets may be a bit of a challenge especially for first-timers who’d come to visit. It’s actually strategically located at the second level of the 8 Missuouri building just across Gloria Maris and right behind Promenade in Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan. But let me tell you, it’s worth all the effort and the trip.

Gising-Gising

Recipes 8 Missouri serves comfort food at its best—they’ve taken our common Filipino dishes and elevated them into delightfully new and extraordinary meals. Guests will feel like true royalties once they take a bite out of the Crispy Tilapia [crispy filled strips with sweet-spicy soy sauce on the side], it’s a very light dish that melds the flavors of the fish and the salty-sweet taste of the sauce. General’s Chicken [thigh fillet chunks, eggplant slices, Recipes’ special sweet-spicy sauce] are unique, flavorful, and of course, a delight in every bite. We were fighting for the Beef Kare-kare with Oxtail and Tripe [stewed oxtail and ox tripe, vegetables, Recipes’ peanut sauce and bagoong (fermented shrimp paste) on the side] because they were so divine! The veggies were crunchy because they were half-cooked while the beef were so tender that they felt like they literally melt into our mouth.

For those who liked veggies, we’ve also tried their best-selling Gising-gising [chopped Baguio beans, ground pork, and a special spicy coconut sauce]. We’ve truly enjoyed eating vegetables this way. The natural sweetness of coconut milk and the spiciness of the dish gave Gising-gising worthy of digging in for a second or third helping.

Don’t forget to try their sweets before you leave. Unlike other Recipes by Metro branches, Recipes 8 Missouri has a lot of specialty sweets to offer. They’ve got cakes and pastries that go well with their specialty coffee. We were able to try two types of desserts: Calamansi Tart and Kapeng Barako Brownie. Their sinfully sweet version of Calamansi Tart is such a bliss, it will surely make your tastebuds sing with joy. The Kapeng Barako Brownie is also good, except that I am quite biased, as I don’t enjoy chocolates that much.

If you need a quick pick me up, their bestselling coffees, creamy smoothies, and yummy shakes will give you the boost you need. Recipes 8 Missouri’s high quality service, great tasting food, and welcoming atmosphere truly make for a memorable dining experience. There’s no doubt you’ll leave with a fully tummy and huge smile on your face, just as we did!

Recipes 8 Missouri Specialties and Sweets is located at the 2nd level of 8 Missouri Building, Greenhills, San Juan.
