Filipinos love to eat and so does the Chinese.
The Philippine archipelago is considered a melting pot of South East Asia. And
we often find ourselves in family or social gatherings where we celebrate our
diverse culture along with food. Lucky Chinatown recently kicked off an
activity that aims to engage the Filipino-Chinese community of Binondo in both Asian
culinary as well as musical traditions.
Popular songs were performed on stage by selected amateur young artists
to the delight of the crowd.
The event officially started last August 20
along with the Street Food Fest where shoppers and frequent mall visitors get
the opportunity to sample popular delicacies at the Lucky Chinatown Walk.
The three-day main event at the Atrium is slated on August 26 to 28. Japan and Korea are featured on the first day for the “East Asia Feast”. There will be K-Pop inspired performances along with Japanese traditional and modern dances and a ramen eating contest.
The last day of the event will focus on local dishes for “Filipino Feast”. There will be performances from Filipino recording artists and bands. Daryl Ong will have a special appearance as part of his album tour.
“Chinese Food Trip”
is the theme for day two, where mall goers will be treated to Chinese cultural
performances and cooking demos featuring hand pulled noodles.
Experience an all-Asian extravaganza to
celebrate the rich flavors and cultures of the region! Admission to the event
is free.
