UNCLE CHEFFY: GREAT AMBIANCE AND DELICIOUS PANIZZA

Che una bella panizza! This is the closest I’ve come to a panizza experience. I practically inhaled Uncle Cheffy’s panizza, and noted that this had the thinnest crust too, similar to that of pita bread. Panizza for those not familiar with it, is a lot like pizza except that it’s made really thin and the crust isn’t crispy because it’s meant to be rolled up and not devour in slices. Going back to what I was saying, Uncle Cheffy’s panizza was alive and robust. Each bite was consistently exploding with flavors from the choice toppings to the fillings of minced onions and tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts and lettuce—really a nice layering of flavors.

The cheese was fresh and well distributed. Served fresh off the bricked oven with a hint of char (which I love), the crust delivers a subtle olive oil flavor that goes well with whatever panizza toppings you choose. It had a soft powdery crust, topped with melted cheese, bacons, garlic-roasted mushrooms, even as exotic as escargot, and caramelized onions. The panizza is then garnished with lettuce leaves, fresh alfalfa sprouts and tomatoes and onions—they add a fresh crisp to each bite. Uncle Cheffy’s panizza would make a perfect snack or dinner, but given its size, sharing is recommended.

Group meals are also available

I appreciated the quality of the panizza, there’s a distinct flavor of the fresh mozzarella. It was love at first sight. I knew from the second they placed it on our table that it was going to be good. And it was. The entire family panizza disappeared in 15 minutes flat. My advice? Order two different panizza (Uncle Cheffy has a variety of flavors to choose from.)

By the way, Uncle Cheffy’s also known for their best-bricked oven barbecues. They also have group meals good for 4 to 5 persons at P560-595, inclusive of rice, a choice of roasted chicken, grilled cream dory, barbecue pork chops and a pitcher of their signature iced tea. And while you’re there, make sure to order my favorite Uncle Cheffy dessert: Chocolate Mango Roulade. I swear you won’t regret it! It’s a perfect way to cap off your meal.
