Owner Ms. Sylvia Cancio took a leap of faith when she
transformed a portion of space from their family business into a small but cozy
restaurant. But it turned out to a worthy risk. Now it’s charming yet still
some sort of secret because it’s partly hidden at the back of her building (but
hey, now if you’re reading this, I’m sharing with you this little gem),
frequented by groups of friends and families with healthy appetites yet they choose
healthy meals over fast foods. People
obviously enjoy Live Life Vegetarian Restaurant. Not only because of it’s cozy
ambiance, but their buffet spread of Italian, Filipino and Asian inspired
dishes that are all surprisingly good.
The best part? Everything’s affordable!

My significant other is a certified carnivore. He absolutely
abhor vegetables. So when I had invited him to attend an event at Live Life
Vegan Restaurant, he immediately said, “Vegetarian resto? Oh, no! I need to
stuff myself first before heading to that resto to see you.” Just like anyone
who’s not really a vegan or isn’t that much of a vegetables person, there’s a negative
notion right away that eating healthy foods is synonymous to eating bland or
eating ‘grass.’

Imagine my surprise when my significant other loved Live
Life Restaurant’s buffet spread that I saw him enjoying his third or fourth
helpings of his new favourite dishes. Cancio, Live Life’s owner said she
personally developed the restaurant’s menu.
The idea came to her when she realized she was starting to feel
unhealthy from all the fast food and the meat she was eating. Live Life debunks the myth that vegetarian foods
aren’t as delicious. Cancio’s Baked Mushroom and Zuccini Teriyaki, Tofu
Patties, Grilled Vegetable Skewers, Fresh Lumpia (this was my boyfriend’s favourite
among all the dishes on their buffet), Vegetable Paella, Vegetable Curry, Chili
con Tofu were such a hit among her clients. Cancio’s equally proud of her turon—“because
the langka (jackfruit jam) jam is homemade. The result gives the banana
fritters an outstanding sweetness.”
Cancio studied nutrition in New York, so she must’ve really put to good
use what she had studied for. She bakes
a mean ensaymada too and for non vegan guests, she can also arrange and make
her special savory roasted chicken. Live Life restaurant is a tiny, no-frills
hole-in-the-wall but with appetizing rows of vegan goodies enough to make your
mouth water and your tummy asking for more of these nutritional healthy dishes.

Hello. I believe you've mistaken Eggplant Saikyo for Baked Mushroom and Zuccini Teriyaki here. :)
