The Wholesome Table Food Review: Farm-to-Plate Healthy Restaurant inBonifacio High Street Central, Taguig

"In this lifetime, you will only have one body and if you are what you eat, then eat right and eat well. The Wholesome Table is here to help you do exactly that," says the paper tray which you can find along with similar statements adorning their walls. The Wholesome Table claims to be Antibiotic-free and Nitrate-free. They are unprocessed, raw, fresh, organic, cold-pressed and superfood. They have the farm-to-plate concept. Conceptualized by health advocate couple Bianca Araneta-Elizalde and Juan Elizalde, The WholesomeTable uses local and organic ingredients without sacrificing the flavors. Elizalde's goal is to make sure her customers get a delightful dining experience at her restaurant sans any guilt feeling later.

The Wholesome Table operates under an artisanal philosophy that results in the creation of well-designed dishes that are purely organic, healthy, and balanced yet surprisingly delicious. The Wholesome Table makes everything from scratch, doing away with preservatives and artificial seasonings. Expect a diverse selection of power foods and super drinks even smoothies that draws inspiration from different cultures and disciplines.

I love The Wholesome Table's cozy romantic ambiance. It's a great place to eat when you're out for a date. We've tried their Enlightened Bowl--yummy brown rice, alfalfa sprouts, carrots, fresh tofu and lots of greens that are good for you. It was Bianca Elizalde's own recipe.

                              Barcelona Pizza

Their Organic Mushroom Fritters (Php320) tastes like our homemade risotto balls with flavors of mozzarella-stuffed button mushrooms, tofu, wrapped with Italian sausage, breaded and crisp fried and served with tomato and basil drizzled sauce. And their freshly baked Barcelona Pizza with button mushrooms, shiitake, with herbs and spices. I was a bit disappointed with their Barcelona pizza though because it wasn't as good as I thought. Perhaps my expectations were quite high since I had truly enjoyed their Enlightened Bowl and Organic Mushroom Fritters.

From their bar area, you could see lots of fresh ingredients in a bottle. From goji berries, chia seeds, cashew, almonds, raw sugar, spirulina, chlorella and rolled oats--when you order your drink will be made right in front of you.

My friends who have been here swear by their Orzo Salad and Kale Caesar Salad. They said they're really good. I'd like to try them both the next time I visit The Wholesome Table.

I've also tried their Wholesome Mojito--spirulina, chlorella, honey and mint. For P120, this is another revelation! Yes, they've got a mojito without any alcohol in it. It's so refreshing and for something that's green in color. Sorry, I had a misconception that any drink in green tastes yucky. But this one's really good. Drinking The Wholesome Table's Mojito feels like you're flushing off the toxins from your body.

The Wholesome Mojito

My verdict? It was home cooked healthy meals at its finest. Who would've thought something healthy could also be delicious? I used to think eating healthy foods is synonymous to eating something bland. But with a restaurant like The Wholesome Table's, I know now where to get my healthy fix yet I am assured of delicious meals.

The Wholesome Table is located at the Bonifacio High Street, near 7th corner 30th street and the BGC Amphitheater.
